The Starry Night is an iconic oil painting created in 1889 and is a hallmark of the Impressionist period. The landscape was painted after being inspired by his year-long stay at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in France and continues to attract thousands of tourists to date.
There are a total of 32 canvases that display this famous work of Worhol - all displaying paintings of a Campbell’s soup can in various flavours. While the collection did create some controversy at first, today is seen as one of the major art forms in the pop art movement.
This is another incredible masterpiece that represents work from the Impressionist period. By Car or Taxi: Take the Queensboro (59 St.) Bridge and follow signs to Queens Blvd. (Rte. 25). Turn right on Van Dam St., left on 47 Ave., and left again on 33 St. The entrance is on 33 St. between 47 Ave. and Queens Blvd.
